The Jefferson Burdick Gallery
The Father of Card Collecting himself, Jefferson Burdick, used to stamp the backs of some of his cards. He would stamp "Jeff", "Jeff B" or "Jeff Burdick" or sometimes a fancy JB or in conjunction with a Metropolitan Museum of Art stamp where Jeff's stamp says, "Gift of J. R. Burdick" . I've included a few cards that aren't T206s in this gallery even though it is not what the project focuses on in order to show other examples of Jeff's stamps. As with all galleries, I'll add more examples as I find them.
Jefferson Burdick wrote the American Card Catalog (ACC) and gave all of our cards their set names such as T206, E93, M116 etc. His collection is now housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art in Manhattan, NYC. It is shown on a rotating schedule in parts.
